How to Draw a Banana Split (Easy Step by Step)
A banana split is a stack of round scoops tucked between two banana halves in a long bowl. You can build it from circles, curved lines and one tilted rectangle, so it is a great treat to draw. The wavy syrup and the cherry on top make it look good enough to eat.

Step 1: The bowl
Draw a long, gently curved line across the middle for the rim. Then draw a big smile-shaped curve under it, joining both ends, and add a little trapezoid foot at the bottom center.
Step 2: Banana halves
At each end of the rim, draw a tall curved line that rises up and bends in toward the middle, like a big hook. Then add a shorter curved line inside each one.
Step 3: Middle scoop
Draw a big circle in the center, floating a little above the rim. It can be a little bumpy, like real ice cream.
Step 4: Side scoops
Draw a circle on each side of the middle scoop, tucked slightly behind it. Let the bottoms touch the rim, and add a short straight line going up along the outer edge of each side scoop.
Step 5: Wavy syrup
Draw a squiggly, wavy line across the middle of each scoop, like chocolate sauce dripping down.
Step 6: The cherry
Draw a small circle on top of the middle scoop. Add a short curved stem that swoops up and to the right.
Step 7: The wafer
Draw a tall, tilted rectangle poking up behind the right scoop. Add two short lines across it to make stripes.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a banana split
- Draw the bowl first and make the rim line fairly straight. Every scoop and banana then has a clear spot to sit on.
- Let the side scoops tuck behind the middle one. Stop their lines where they touch the big circle instead of drawing the full circles.
- Make the syrup with loose, wiggly lines, like a row of small hills. Don't worry about making them even.

Banana split fun fact for kids

Questions about drawing a banana split
What shapes do I need to draw a banana split?
You need circles for the scoops and the cherry, curved lines for the bowl and bananas, and a rectangle for the wafer. Wavy lines make the syrup.
How do I make my banana split look more like ice cream?
Draw the scoops a little bumpy and let the syrup wiggle across them in wavy lines. Overlapping the circles makes them look like a real pile of scoops.
Why does my bowl look lopsided?
Start with the straight rim line, then draw the curved bottom from one end to the other. Check that both sides curve about the same amount before you add the foot.
