How to Draw an Easter Basket (Easy Step by Step)
An Easter basket is a happy thing to draw because it is mostly curves and criss-cross lines. You only need a curved handle, a rounded rectangle for the rim, a bowl shape, a few egg shapes, and a bow. Once you have the basket, you can fill it with as many eggs as you like.

Step 1: The handle sides
Draw two curved bands, one on the left and one on the right. Each band is two lines side by side that start near the top, curve outward, and run straight down. Leave the middle open.
Step 2: The top rim
Across the bottom of the handle, draw a long rectangle with rounded corners. The ends of both handle bands tuck into the top of it.
Step 3: The basket sides
Under the rim, start at the left end and draw a line that slants inward, like a bowl. Curve it along the bottom and slant it back up to the right end of the rim.
Step 4: The first weave lines
Inside the basket, draw slanting lines from the rim down toward the bottom. Cross them with lines slanting the other way to make little diamonds.
Step 5: Finish the weave
Keep adding slanting lines across the rest of the basket until the diamond pattern fills it from side to side. Try to keep the lines about the same distance apart.
Step 6: The bow
At the top of the handle, where the two sides almost meet, draw a wavy bow shape that looks like two loops side by side. Add a short band under it across the middle.
Step 7: Eggs and ribbon tails
Inside the handle, draw two pointy eggs in the middle with a wavy line across them. Add a rounded egg on each side with one little dot on it. Then draw two long ribbon tails hanging down from the bow between the eggs.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing an Easter basket
- Draw each handle side as two lines that stay the same distance apart, so they look like a thick band.
- The weave is the trickiest part. Go slowly and keep all the lines in each direction leaning the same way.
- Draw the eggs so they sit behind the rim. Stop each egg line where it touches the rim instead of drawing the whole egg.
