How to Draw a Carrot · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: The carrot body

Draw two long lines that start apart at the top and slant toward each other, meeting in a rounded point at the bottom. It looks like a tall, skinny letter V with a soft tip, and the top stays open.

  2. Step 2: The top edge

Close the top of the carrot with a gently bumpy line. Start at the top of the left side and curve across to the top of the right side.

  3. Step 3: The middle leaf

Draw a small, pointy leaf shaped like a lemon standing straight up from the middle of the top edge. Make both curved lines meet at a point on the top and at the carrot.

  4. Step 4: The side leaves

Add two more lemon-shaped leaves, one leaning out to the left and one leaning out to the right. Start each at the top edge next to the middle leaf and sweep up and away.

  5. Step 5: Face and first ridge

Draw two small round dots for eyes near the top of the carrot, with space between them. Add a little curved smile below and between them. Then draw one short curved line on the left side of the carrot, starting at the edge.

  6. Step 6: More ridges

Add two more short curved lines on the sides of the carrot, one low on the left and one a bit higher on the right. Start each at the edge and curve it a little toward the middle.

  7. All done!

Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a carrot

  • Draw the two long sides lightly first so they slope evenly and the point at the bottom stays centered.
  • Draw the middle leaf first, then tuck the side leaves in beside it so they all start from the top edge.
  • Keep the eyes and smile close together near the top of the carrot so the face looks cute and not stretched out.
