Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 3 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The helmet
Draw a big circle for the space helmet. Leave a small gap at the bottom where the helmet will sit on the suit.
Step 3: The dog's head
Inside the helmet, draw a curved line across the top for the head, then a smiling curve below it for the chin. Leave the sides open for now.
Step 4: Floppy ears
On each side of the head, draw a rounded ear shaped like a bean that hangs down. Make both ears about the same size.
Step 5: Face and helmet shine
Draw two short curved lines for the sides of the face. Add two dots for eyes, a small round nose, and a little smile below it. Finish with a short curved shine line near the top left of the helmet.
Step 6: The space suit
Under the helmet, draw a wide rounded shape like a loaf of bread for the suit. Its top should touch the bottom of the helmet.
Step 7: Arm and feet
Draw a small curved arm on the left side of the suit. Then add a short, wide box with rounded corners under the suit for the feet.
Step 8: Porthole and side flap
In the middle of the suit, draw a small circle with a line down the center, and draw a short line between the feet. On the right side of the suit, add a curved flap and two tiny dashes beside it.
Step 9: Stars and planet
Draw a small five-pointed star on each side of the helmet, one on the left and one on the right. Add a tiny planet near the lower right: draw a small circle and wrap a flat oval ring around it.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a space dog
- Draw the helmet first and keep the dog's head small inside it, so there is room for the ears without touching the glass.
- The floppy ears are the trickiest part. Think of two beans hanging down and tuck the top of each one right next to the head.
- Leave the stars and planet for last. Draw each star lightly with five straight lines before you go over it.

Questions about drawing a space dog
What shapes do I need to draw a space dog?
You need a big circle for the helmet, a rounded loaf shape for the suit, and bean shapes for the ears and arm. A small circle makes the porthole on the suit.
How do I make my space dog look cuter?
Place the eyes low and wide apart on the face, and add a tiny smile. Make the ears big and floppy, because round, soft shapes look friendly.
How do I draw a helmet that looks like glass?
Add a short curved line near the top left inside the helmet. That small shine line makes the circle look like clear glass.
