Step 1: Sides of the head
Draw two curved lines that bulge outward, one on the left and one on the right, like the sides of a big round face. Leave the top and bottom open for now.
Step 2: Floppy hat
Draw a rounded dome above the head for the hat. Then draw a wide, thick band across the bottom of the dome, with its ends touching the sides of the head.
Step 3: The pom-pom
Draw a short curved line from the right side of the hat, and finish it with a small circle at the end for the pom-pom.
Step 4: Beard outline
Draw a wavy line across the face from one side to the other, dipping in the middle, for the top of the beard. Then draw a bumpy curved line along the bottom to close the beard.
Step 5: Glasses and smile
Draw two small circles side by side for the glasses and join them with a little bridge. Add a tiny curved lip shape and a small smile below the glasses.
Step 6: Mustache
Draw a wide, wiggly mustache just under the glasses, with a little dip in the middle.
Step 7: Arms and list
Under the beard, draw two arms curving down on each side and a boxy shape between them for Santa's list. Add a few small check marks and short lines on the list.
Step 8: Boots and list edge
Draw two small ovals at the bottom for boots, one on each side. Add a short curved line across the top of the list to finish it.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.
