Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Head and ears
Draw a short curved line across the top for the forehead. Then draw a little flap sticking out on each side for the ears, and let the sides curve down into a round chin at the bottom.
Step 3: The horns
Add two curved horns on top of the head, one on each side. Each horn is a pointy leaf shape that sits on the head and curls up to a tip.
Step 4: The snout
Draw a wide dome shape low on the face for the snout. Start at the left side of the head, curve up and over, and come down on the right side. The bottom is left open because the chin is already there.
Step 5: Eyes, nostrils and mouth
Draw two round dots for the eyes above the snout. Add two smaller dots inside the snout for the nostrils. Then draw a little U shape below them for the mouth.
Step 6: Right arm and body
Under the head, draw a curved line down each side to start the body. On the right, draw a short arm that ends in a round, filled-in hoof.
Step 7: Left arm and hoof
Now draw the left arm to match. Make a short line down from the head that ends in a round, filled-in hoof, and let it meet the body line.
Step 8: Feet
At the bottom of the body, draw two flat, chunky feet. Join them with a small bump between the legs.
Step 9: Little tags
Finish with a small tilted rectangle on each side, just under the head. They look like little tags or straps.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing an ox
- Draw the head lightly first so you can see where the snout should sit before you press hard.
- The horns are the trickiest part, so think of them as two small leaf shapes tilted away from each other.
- Fill in the hooves last with a dark crayon or marker, so the black stays neat and does not smudge the lines.
