Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Head, face and ears
Sketch a rounded head with a few short hair lines across the top and a small curved ear on each side. Add a wavy mustache with a tiny mouth in the middle, then a few short lines for the beard down each side.
Step 3: The woolly hat
Draw a dome on top of the head, then a curved band across the forehead. Add a little round pom-pom on top and short up-and-down lines on the band for the knit.
Step 4: Two round eyes
Fill in two small round dots for eyes, side by side above the mustache.
Step 5: Body and arm
Under the beard, draw a wavy collar and a big rounded body shape with a flat bottom. Add a bent arm on the right ending in a round mitten.
Step 6: Legs and boots
Draw two short legs going down from the bottom of the body, with a gap between them. Add a chunky rounded boot at the bottom of each leg.
Step 7: Axe and fist
Draw a round fist on the left side of the body. Draw a long straight handle slanting up through the fist, and finish with a big axe blade at the top with a curved cutting edge.
Step 8: Plaid shirt
Draw straight lines up and down across the shirt, then lines side to side to make squares. Add a few curved lines on the sleeve to match.
Step 9: Little tree
Next to the boots, draw a puffy cloud shape for the leaves and a short trunk below it. Add a tiny check mark on the leaves.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.
