Step 1: Back wall of the box
Draw a tall line down the left side of the page. Curve it softly at the bottom so it turns a little to the right.
Step 2: Roof, hood and front
Start at the top of your first line and draw a long flat roof going right. Then slant the line down into a short flat hood, round the front corner, and come down to the bottom.
Step 3: Cab window
Near the front, draw a tall straight line from the roof slope down toward the bottom. Add a short line across the top and another across the middle to make a little triangle window.
Step 4: Wheel arches and front wheel
Draw a half circle on the bottom edge at the back and another at the front, then join them with a flat bottom line. Draw a circle that fits inside the front arch.
Step 5: Back wheel and hubcaps
Draw a circle inside the back arch to match the front wheel. Then draw a small circle in the middle of each wheel for the hubcap.
Step 6: The cross
On the side of the box, draw a plus sign with four arms of about the same length. Give each arm a square end.
Step 7: The siren
On top of the roof, draw a small dome shaped like half a circle. Let its ends sit right on the roof line.
Step 8: Flashing lines
Draw three short lines above the siren: one straight up and one slanted on each side. They show the light flashing.
Step 9: Window and lights
Draw a small circle window above and to the right of the cross. Add a tiny ring for the back light and another tiny ring for the headlight at the front.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing an ambulance
- Start with the back wall and the long flat roof, and keep the roof line straight. A good box makes the cab and hood line up.
- Draw the two wheel arches about the same size so the truck sits level. Make each wheel circle fit snugly inside its arch.
- For the plus sign, draw a small square in the middle first. Then add an arm on each side and erase the square.

Color the body white or light gray, the cross red, and the siren red or blue. For a creative twist, add a stripe along the side or color the little lights yellow.
Ambulance fun fact for kids
Many ambulances have the word AMBULANCE printed backward on the front, so drivers ahead can read it correctly in their rearview mirrors.

Draw the big circle slowly and try to close it where you started. Then add a smaller circle in the center, and the wheel will look round and neat.
