A mouse sitting next to a big wedge of cheese is a fun first drawing because it is built mostly from circles and curved lines. You will draw a round head, round ears, a body from two curved lines, and a wedge for the cheese. The curly tail and the holes in the cheese make it feel playful.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The round head
Draw a big circle for the mouse's head, a little wider than it is tall. Leave a tiny gap on the left side, which you will close later.
Step 3: The two ears
Add a round ear on each top corner of the head. Each ear is a half circle that starts and ends on the head's outline.
Step 4: Two body lines
Under the head, draw a long curved line down from each side of the bottom of the head. The left line curves out and down, and the right line curves down and a little in. Leave the bottom open.
Step 5: Face and whiskers
Draw two dots for eyes and a small rounded nose with a tiny mouth under it, in the middle of the face. Add three short whisker lines on each side of the head.
Step 6: The curly tail
Start at the bottom of the left body line and draw a curve out to the left. Finish with a little curl, like a snail shell.
Step 7: The little paws
Draw two small ovals on the front of the body, one above the other. They are the mouse's tiny paws.
Step 8: The cheese wedge
Draw a flat line along the bottom, going right from the body. Draw a slanted line from the left end going up to the right, then a tall side on the right. Add a thin strip beside the tall side to show the front edge.
Step 9: Holes in the cheese
Draw three small circles on the cheese, some bigger and some smaller. Put one near the top slanted edge, and do not line them up in a row.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a mouse with cheese
- Draw the head circle first and keep your lines light. Ears are easier to place when you can see where the head's top corners are.
- Let the two body lines start right at the bottom of the head, so the head and body look joined.
- For the cheese holes, vary the sizes and do not put them in a row. Put one near the top edge so the cheese looks nibbled.
