Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Chin and cheeks
Draw a wide, gentle curve that dips down like a smile. This is the bottom of the mouse's face, and it sits just above the round guide.
Step 3: The round body
Start at each end of the face curve and draw a line curving down and outward, following the round guide. Stop near the bottom and leave the body open there.
Step 4: Big round ears
Draw a big curved ear like a letter C on each side, up above the face. Then add a smaller curve inside each ear.
Step 5: The Santa hat
Between the ears, draw a dome shape like half a circle. Add a curvy band across the bottom of the dome, then finish with a little pom-pom loop at the right side.
Step 6: Face and whiskers
Draw two round dots for eyes. Add a tiny line down for the nose with a little smile curving up on both sides. Then add two short whisker lines on each cheek.
Step 7: Feet and tail
At the bottom of the body, draw a small curved shape on each side for the feet. Then draw a long, curvy tail from the right side of the body that ends in a little curl.
Step 8: The gift box
In the middle of the tummy, draw a square for the present. Add a line across and a line down the middle for the ribbon, then two little loops on top for a bow. Close the feet with a short line along the top of each one.
Step 9: Arms
Draw a short curved arm on each side of the box. Start each one near the top of the body and curve it in to touch the box.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a Christmas mouse
- Start by drawing the faint round guide, then follow it for the sides of the body. It keeps the mouse looking round and balanced.
- The two ears are the trickiest part. Try to make them about the same size, and draw the small inner curve after the big outer one.
- Draw the arms last so they end right at the sides of the box, as if the mouse is holding it.
