Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The round pudding
Draw a big round circle, a little wider than tall, in the middle of your page. This is the pudding.
Step 3: The plate
Draw a wide, flat oval under the pudding, with its two ends peeking out on each side. Then draw a smaller oval inside it, so the plate has a rim. Stop your plate lines where they touch the pudding.
Step 4: The wavy icing
Across the upper part of the pudding, draw a wavy line with round drips hanging down, like a squiggly snake. Start at the left edge and wiggle all the way to the right edge.
Step 5: The holly leaves
On top of the pudding, draw two pointy leaf shapes, one leaning left and one leaning right. Make each one from two curved lines that meet at both ends.
Step 6: The holly berry
Draw a small rounded berry between the two leaves, right where they meet the top of the pudding.
Step 7: Fruit dots
Fill the bottom half of the pudding with small round dots, scattered here and there. Make each one by pressing your pencil down and giving it a little twirl.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a Christmas pudding
- Draw the big circle lightly first, so you can fix it if it comes out lopsided before you add the icing.
- The wavy icing line is the trickiest part. Go slowly and make the drips fat and round, like upside-down U shapes.
- Draw the plate ovals so they tuck behind the pudding. Stop your plate lines where they touch the circle instead of crossing it.
