A cat loaf is a cat tucked up with its paws hidden, looking just like a loaf of bread. This drawing is built from an oval for the head, a rounded loaf shape for the body, and two triangles for the ears. Two small curved lines add a tucked-in paw and a curling tail. It is a calm, friendly cat to draw because there are no legs to figure out.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The round head
Draw a big wide oval near the top of your page for the cat's head. Make it a little wider than it is tall, like an egg lying on its side.
Step 3: The loaf body
Under the head, draw a big rounded shape like a loaf of bread. Start at the left side of the head, curve down and across the bottom with a flat line, then curve up the right side to tuck behind the head. Add a rounded bump at the bottom right.
Step 4: The pointy ears
On top of the head, draw two triangles, one on the left and one on the right. Let the bottom of each triangle sit on the head and point the tips up and out.
Step 5: Happy face
Draw two little upside-down smiles for sleepy closed eyes. Between them, lower down, add a small oval nose with a short line below it that splits into a curvy smile.
Step 6: The paw line
At the bottom left of the body, draw a short curved line just inside the edge. It makes a tucked-in paw.
Step 7: The tail line
Inside the bottom right bump, draw a long gentle line that runs along the bottom and bends up at the end. This shows the tail curling around the body.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a cat loaf
- Draw the head first and the body second, so you can stop the body line where it meets the head instead of crossing over it.
- Make both ear triangles about the same size, and let their bottoms touch the top of the head so they look attached.
- Keep the eyes and the nose small and close together near the middle of the head, which is what makes the cat look sweet and sleepy.
- Keep the paw line and the tail line short and gentle so they stay inside the body.
