How to draw a moon rover step by step

How to Draw a Moon Rover · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: The rover body

Draw a long rounded rectangle across the middle of your page, like a bar of soap. Then add a straight line just inside the bottom edge, with a short stub going down at each end.

  2. Step 2: Head and neck

Above the left end of the body, draw a small rounded rectangle for the head, like a little TV screen. Draw a straight neck line down from the middle of its bottom to touch the body.

  3. Step 3: The six wheels

Under the body, draw six circles in a row, each about the same size. Leave a little space between them so they do not touch.

  4. Step 4: Wheel arms and hubs

Between the first and last stubs, draw four short straight lines from the bottom of the body down to the tops of the middle four wheels. Then put a small dot in the center of each of those four wheels.

  5. Step 5: The solar panel

On top of the body, draw a slanted four-sided shape that leans to the right, like a tilted window. Add two short lines inside it to split it into little panes.

  6. Step 6: The antenna dish

On the right side of the body, draw a short straight pole going up. At the top, draw a small bowl shape with a thin stick poking up through it.

  7. Step 7: Happy face

Inside the head, draw two round dots for eyes. Under them, add a small curved smile.

  8. Step 8: Hubcaps and moon craters

Draw a dot in the center of the first and last wheels so all six match. Then draw three flat ovals on the ground below the rover for craters, each a different size.

  9. All done!

Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a moon rover

  • Draw the six wheels as one row first and check that they are about the same size. If the circles look wobbly, trace around a coin or a bottle cap.
  • Make the wheel arms the same length, so the rover sits level and does not tip over.
  • The solar panel leans to the right. Draw the slanted shape first, then add the cross lines so the little panes come out even.
