How to Draw a Superhero (Easy Step by Step)
A superhero is a fun first character to draw because a cape, a mask and a star make it look brave right away. It is built from simple shapes: a big circle for the head, straight lines for the body and legs, curved lines for the arms, and boxes for the boots. Each step adds just one piece, so it is easy to follow.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The big round head
Draw a big circle, a little wider than it is tall, for the head. Leave lots of space underneath for the body.
Step 3: Hair and mask
Draw a wavy line across the top of the head for the hair. Then draw two long wavy lines across the middle of the face, one above the other, from one side of the head to the other. They make the mask.
Step 4: Eyes and smile
Draw two small dots for eyes in the space between the two mask lines. Then draw a little curved smile below the mask in the middle of the face.
Step 5: The body sides
Under the head, draw two short straight lines going down, a little apart, for the sides of the body. They start at the bottom of the head.
Step 6: Curved arms
Draw a curved arm on each side of the body, like a bent noodle. Each arm starts at the top of the body, bows out to the side, and curls back in near the bottom of the body.
Step 7: Star and belt
Draw a small star in the middle of the chest. Then add two short lines across the bottom of the body for a belt.
Step 8: Fists, legs and boots
Draw a tiny round fist where each arm ends, next to the belt. Then draw two short straight legs going down from the belt, and finish each one with a boot shaped like a rounded box. Add a short line across the top of each boot.
Step 9: The flowing cape
Start at the shoulder next to the neck and draw a long curve sweeping out and down on one side. Close it with a wiggly line along the bottom that goes back toward the boot.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a superhero
- Draw the head circle first and keep it big. The mask and hair lines are easier to place when you have lots of room.
- The mask is the trickiest part. Make both of its wavy lines run all the way from one side of the head to the other, and keep the eyes between them.
- Draw the arms as simple curves that bow out and curl back in. Then add a tiny round fist at the end of each one, next to the belt.
