How to Draw a Jello Dessert (Easy Step by Step)
A jiggly jello dessert is a fun first food drawing because it is built from simple shapes: a plate, a dome, a small mound of cream, and a tiny circle for the cherry. The wiggle lines on the sides make it look like it is shaking right on the plate.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The plate
Draw a big wide oval lying flat, like a dish seen from the side. Leave a small gap in the top edge, near the middle, where the jello will sit.
Step 3: The jello dome
Draw a round dome that starts on one side of the gap, curves up and over, and comes back down the other side. Close the bottom with a gently curved line across the plate. Leave the very top open.
Step 4: The top rim
Draw one gently curved line across the top of the dome, from the left side to the right side. It joins the two open ends of the dome.
Step 5: The whipped cream
Draw a small two-layer mound on top of the rim. Start with a wide, low curve, then draw a smaller rounded bump on top of it.
Step 6: The cherry
Draw a small circle sitting right on top of the cream. Add a short curved stem that bends up and to the side.
Step 7: Jello stripes
Draw four long, nearly straight lines going down the dome. Start each one just under the rim and end it at the bottom edge, spaced out evenly.
Step 8: Wiggle lines
Draw two short curved lines on each side of the jello, bending toward it. They show the jello jiggling.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a jello dessert
- Draw the plate first and leave a gap in its top edge, so the jello dome has a spot to sit.
- Keep the stripes spaced about evenly, running from just under the rim to the bottom, so the dome looks ribbed.
- Keep the two wiggle lines on each side close together and bending toward the jello, so they look like matching jiggles.

How to color your jello dessert drawing
Try red or lime green for the jello with a white top and a bright red cherry. For a twist, make each stripe section a different color to draw a rainbow jello.
Jello dessert fun fact for kids
Jello is made with gelatin, which turns from a liquid into a wobbly solid as it cools. That is why it jiggles when you bump the plate.
Questions about drawing a jello dessert
What shapes do I need to draw a jello dessert?
You need a big oval for the plate, a dome for the jello, a small two-layer mound for the cream, and a circle for the cherry. A few straight lines finish the stripes.
How do I make my jello look jiggly?
Add two short curved lines on both sides of the dome, like little motion lines. Pairs of lines that bend toward the jello make it look like it is wobbling.
How do I draw the cherry on top?
Start with a small circle sitting on the cream. Then add a short curved line from the top of the circle for the stem.
