How to Draw Churros (Easy Step by Step)
Churros are crunchy, sugary treats, and they are easy to draw because they are just long skinny sticks with rounded tops. This drawing uses a cup shape with a stripe, three tall churros, a smiley face, and a little cup for dipping. If you can draw a few straight lines and curves, you can do it.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The paper cup
Draw a wide, slightly curved line across the top. Then draw two slanted lines coming down from its ends and meet them at a short, gently curved bottom. It looks like a flowerpot.
Step 3: Cup stripe
Draw a gently curved line across the cup, a little below the top edge, from one side to the other. This makes the band around the cup.
Step 4: The middle churro
Start at the middle of the band and draw two straight lines going up, side by side. Close them with a round curve at the top, like a tall skinny stick with a rounded end.
Step 5: Side churros
Draw two more long churros that lean outward, one to the left and one to the right. Give each one a rounded top and let the bottoms end at the top edge of the cup.
Step 6: Churro ridges
Inside each churro, draw two or three long, skinny lines that follow the same slant. Start a little below the rounded top and stop just above the cup.
Step 7: A happy face
Add two small round dots for eyes on the lower part of the cup, below the stripe. Draw a little smile curve between and below them.
Step 8: The dipping cup
Next to the big cup, draw a curved line for the rim of a little bucket. Then draw two lines slanting down from its ends and join them with a rounded bottom.
Step 9: Chocolate dip
Draw a wavy line across the little cup just under the rim for the top of the sauce. Add a small curved bump on top of it for a swirl of chocolate.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing churros
- Draw the middle churro first so you can see how much space the side ones need. Then keep the left and right churros leaning at about the same angle.
- The skinny ridge lines are the trickiest part. Draw them slowly, following the outline of each churro, and stop a little short of the top and bottom.
- Draw the cup wider at the top than at the bottom. The wide opening gives the churros room to stand up inside it.

How to color your churros drawing
Color the churros golden yellow and orange, and the cup red or blue with a white stripe. For a creative twist, make the dipping sauce pink strawberry instead of chocolate.
Churros fun fact for kids
Churros are a fried dough treat that people in Spain and Mexico love to eat. The dough is squeezed through a star-shaped tip, which gives them their ridges.
Questions about drawing churros
What shapes do I need to draw churros?
You need long skinny sticks with rounded tops for the churros, a flowerpot shape for the big cup, and a small bucket shape for the dipping cup. Everything else is just thin lines and dots.
How do I make my churros look crunchy?
Add two or three thin lines running down the length of each churro. Those lines look like the ridges you see on real churros.
How do I make the cup look cuter?
Draw two round eyes and a small smile on the lower part of the cup, below the stripe. Keep the eyes the same size so the face looks friendly.
