Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Two big wheels
Draw two big circles side by side with a gap in the middle. Make them about the same size and sit them on the same line, like they are rolling on the ground.
Step 3: The main frame
Start at the middle of the back wheel and draw a slanted line up and to the right. Then draw a flat line across to the right, and a slanted line down to a point between the wheels. Finish the triangle with a line from that point back up to the top left corner, letting a short stick poke up there.
Step 4: The seat
Draw a small flat oval on top of the stick that sticks up from the frame, like a little cushion.
Step 5: Back bar and pedal
Draw a line from the bottom point of the frame going left toward the middle of the back wheel, and add a short slanted line above it to make a thin wedge. Then draw a short stick going down from the bottom point, with a tiny flat bar at the end for the pedal.
Step 6: The front fork
From the top right corner of the frame, draw a line sloping down to the middle of the front wheel. Add a second short line right next to it so the fork has two sides.
Step 7: Handlebars and basket
Start at the top right corner of the frame and draw a short line straight up, then bend it to the right to make the handlebar. At the end of the handlebar, draw a small box that is a little wider at the top than at the bottom.
Step 8: Wheel spokes
In each wheel, draw straight lines that cross in the center and reach out to the edge, like the rays of a sun.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a bicycle
- Draw the two wheels first and try to make them the same size. Use the edge of a cup or a coin to trace a circle if yours come out wobbly.
- The frame is the trickiest part. Make the lines of the triangle meet at points, and check that the top line stays fairly flat.
- Draw the spokes from the center out to the edge, and aim for lines that are about the same distance apart, like slicing a pizza.

How to color your bicycle drawing
Try a bright red or blue frame with black wheels and a yellow seat. For a creative twist, give each spoke a different rainbow color, or fill the basket with flowers.
Bicycle fun fact for kids
The word bicycle joins "bi," which means two, with "cycle," which comes from a Greek word for circle or wheel. So bicycle means roughly "two wheels."

You need two circles for the wheels, a triangle for the frame, a flat oval for the seat, and a small box for the basket. Everything else is straight lines.
How do I draw a bicycle wheel that looks round?
Trace around a small cup or lid to get a perfect circle, or draw a light oval first and go over it. Practice turning the paper as you draw a curve.
