How to draw a Christmas panda step by step

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: The big head

Draw a big wide oval for the head, a little wider than it is tall. Leave a small gap at the top, because the ears and hat will close it later.

  3. Step 3: Round ears

Draw a small half circle on the top left and another on the top right of the head. Then join them with a straight line across the top of the head.

  4. Step 4: Santa hat

Draw a long rounded rectangle across the top of the head for the fluffy band. Draw a curved cap above it that flops over to the right, and finish with a small circle for the pom-pom.

  5. Step 5: Eyes and pupils

Draw two big ovals in the middle of the face, with space between them. Add a small dot inside each one for the pupil.

  6. Step 6: Arm and feet

Under the head on the left, draw a curved line shaped like a letter C for the arm. Then draw two wide flat ovals at the bottom for the feet.

  7. Step 7: The candy cane

On the right, draw a tall straight line from beside the head down to the feet. Curl the top into a hook, and give the bottom a tiny curl to the left.

  8. Step 8: Nose, tummy and stripes

Draw a small rounded nose in the middle of the face with a little mouth under it. Then draw the round tummy between the arm and the feet, add a small circle paw on the cane, and draw a second line beside the cane with slanted stripes across it. Finish with a short line joining the feet.

  9. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a Christmas panda

  • Draw the head oval first and make it big. Everything else, including the hat and ears, is placed around it.
  • The hat band is the trickiest part. Draw it as a long rounded rectangle that sits on top of the head between the two ears.
  • For the candy cane, draw the tall line first and curl the hook at the top. Add the second line and the slanted stripes last.
