Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The head
Draw a big round circle near the top of your paper, a little wider than it is tall. Leave plenty of room below it for the body.
Step 3: The heart face
Inside the lower half of the head, draw a heart shape with its pointy bottom touching the bottom of the circle. This is the monkey's face patch.
Step 4: Two round ears
Draw a half circle on each side of the head, starting and ending on the head's edge. Make both ears the same size.
Step 5: Face and shoulders
Draw two round dots for eyes near the top of the heart. Add two tiny dots for the nose, then a happy curved smile below them. Under the chin, draw a short curve sloping down on each side for the shoulders.
Step 6: Arms and belly
Draw a tall, narrow oval on each side below the head for the arms. Then draw a short curved line near the bottom of the paper to mark the base of the belly.
Step 7: The round tummy
Draw a medium circle in the middle of the belly. It makes a cute tummy patch.
Step 8: Feet
At the bottom, draw two wide ovals for the feet, one on each side of the belly. Then draw a small oval inside each foot.
Step 9: The curly tail
On the left side, draw a long curved line that starts near the foot and swoops up. Finish with a little curl at the top, then draw a second line beside it to make the tail thick.
Step 10: The right curve
On the right side, start by the foot and draw a long curved line that swoops up and ends in a short flat hook at the top. Add a second line beside it to make it thick.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a baby monkey
- Draw the head circle lightly first so you can fix it, and leave room underneath for the body.
- The heart is the trickiest part. Draw two small bumps at the top, then slide down to a point at the chin.
- Draw the tail as one long line first, then add the second line beside it so both lines curl the same way.
