How to draw a pyramid step by step
How to Draw a Pyramid · tinyhandscreate.com
Step 1: Pyramid outline
Draw a tall triangle with a pointy top. Make the bottom a wide V that points toward you, so one corner looks like it is coming out of the page. Then draw a line from the middle of the pyramid down to the point of the V.
Step 2: Stone layers
Draw three slightly curved lines across the pyramid, one near the top, one in the middle and one near the bottom. Each line starts on the left edge and ends on the right edge, dipping a little where it crosses the center line.
Step 3: Stone blocks
Draw short slanted lines between the layers to make the stone blocks. Draw a line from the top point down to the first layer, and add a few short lines in the top part too.
Step 4: The small pyramid
To the left of the big pyramid, draw a small triangle with a flat bottom. Let its bottom right corner touch the big pyramid.
Step 5: The sun
In the top left corner, draw a circle for the sun. Then add short lines all the way around it, like little rays pointing outward.
Step 6: First palm trunk
Below the pyramids, draw one wavy line going up from the ground. At the top, draw a small round bump where the leaves will grow.
Step 7: Palm leaves
From the round bump on the first trunk, draw long, pointy leaves that droop down on both sides. Then draw a shorter trunk to its right and give it drooping leaves at the top too.
Step 8: The camel's body
At the bottom right, draw a bumpy cloud shape for the back and hump. Under it, draw four short legs with rounded feet.
Step 9: Head and neck
Draw a short curved neck rising from the front of the body. At the top of the neck, draw a rounded head that leans toward the left.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a pyramid
- The big pyramid has a V-shaped bottom edge. Draw the two bottom edges so they meet in a point, then add the center line down to that point, and the shape will look three-dimensional.
- Draw the stone layers as gentle curves, not straight lines. Let each one dip a little where it crosses the center line so it wraps around the pyramid.
- For the palm leaves, start every leaf at the round bump at the top of the trunk and curve it outward and down. Make the second tree shorter than the first so the two look different.

How to color your pyramid drawing
Try sandy yellow and tan for the pyramids, green for the palm leaves, and a warm orange sun. For a creative twist, color the sky a sunset pink and purple, or give the camel colorful stripes.
Pyramid fun fact for kids
The Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt is about 4,500 years old. It was built from more than two million stone blocks, and it was the tallest human-made structure in the world for thousands of years.
Questions about drawing a pyramid
What shapes do I need to draw a pyramid?
You mainly need triangles. The big pyramid is a tall triangle with a V-shaped bottom edge and a line down the middle, and the stone blocks are curved lines and short slanted lines across it.
How do I make my pyramid look 3D?
Make the bottom edge a V shape instead of a flat line, and draw a line from the middle of the pyramid down to the point of the V. That makes the pyramid look like it has two sides.
How do I draw a camel that looks cute?
Keep the shapes round and the legs short. A bumpy, cloud-shaped hump and a rounded head on a short curved neck make the camel look friendly.
