How to Draw a Haunted Castle (Easy Step by Step)
A haunted castle looks spooky, but it is built from easy shapes: tall rectangles, pointy roofs, and rounded arches. Add a crescent moon and a couple of bats, and you have a whole night scene. It is a good drawing for kids who like straight lines and a little bit of mystery.

How to draw a haunted castle step by step
How to Draw a Haunted Castle · tinyhandscreate.com
Step 1: The tall center tower
Draw two long straight lines going up, side by side, like the walls of a tall box. Leave the top and bottom open for now.
Step 2: The pointy center roof
Draw a gently curved line across the top of the two walls. Then draw a pointy hat on top, with two sides that curve inward and meet at a sharp tip.
Step 3: Two side towers
Draw two shorter pairs of straight lines going up, one pair on each side of the big tower. Leave a little space between each pair and the middle tower.
Step 4: Side tower roofs
Draw a slightly curved line across the top of each small tower. Add a small pointy hat on top of each one, with a tiny line sticking up from the tip.
Step 5: Low castle walls
Between each small tower and the big tower, draw a short flat line across the gap. Start it on one tower and end it on the other.
Step 6: Windows and door
Draw a tall window with a rounded top in the big tower, and a smaller one in each side tower. Then draw a big arch for the door at the bottom center, like an upside-down U.
Step 7: The hill
Draw a long flat line under the castle for the ground. At each end, let the line curve down and outward to make a little hill.
Step 8: The crescent moon
In the sky on the upper left, draw a curved line like the letter C. That is your thin crescent moon.
Step 9: Flying bats
Draw two little bats in the sky on the right. Each is a small bumpy shape with two wings that dip in the middle. Make one a little bigger than the other.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a haunted castle
- The curved roofs are the trickiest part. Start at the bottom corners and draw two lines that curve inward toward one point at the top.
- Draw the side towers a bit shorter than the middle one so the castle looks like it has a big center and two helpers.
- For the rounded windows and door, draw a straight-sided box first, then curve the top into a half circle.

How to color your haunted castle drawing
Try deep purple and blue for the walls, gray for the hill, and yellow for the moon and the windows. For a creative twist, color one window bright green so it looks like something is awake inside.
Haunted castle fun fact for kids
Bats are the only mammals that can truly fly. Other mammals, like flying squirrels, can only glide.
Questions about drawing a haunted castle
What shapes do I need to draw a haunted castle?
You need tall rectangles for the towers, pointy roofs, and arches for the door and windows. The moon is a curved C shape, and the bats are small bumpy shapes with two wings.
How do I make my castle look spookier?
Add bats, a thin moon, and a hill under the castle. Making the roofs extra tall and pointy also gives it a haunted look.
How do I draw the pointy roofs so they look curved?
Draw each side as a gentle curve that bends inward, not a straight line. Both sides should meet at the same sharp point at the top.
