How to Draw a Tractor (Easy Step by Step)
A tractor is a fun drawing because it is mostly circles and boxes that you already know how to make. You will build it from two wheels, a long hood and a tall rounded cab. A little puff of smoke above the chimney gives it a busy, happy look.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The big back wheel
Start with a big circle on the left side of your page. This is the biggest part of the tractor, so draw it nice and large.
Step 3: The hood
Start at the upper right side of the big wheel and draw a straight line going right. Finish with a round corner that curves down at the front.
Step 4: The cab
Above the big wheel, draw a tall shape like a rounded box. Its right side goes straight down to the hood line, and its left side curves gently down to touch the wheel.
Step 5: The front wheel
Draw a medium circle at the front, under the right end of the hood. Add a short straight line to link it to the big wheel.
Step 6: Wheel centers
Draw a smaller circle inside each wheel and put a dot in the middle of each one. These make the hubs.
Step 7: Window and headlight
Draw a window inside the cab, shaped like a door with a round top. Then add a small circle on the front edge of the hood for the headlight.
Step 8: The chimney
Draw a tall thin rectangle standing up from the top of the hood, near the front. This is the exhaust pipe.
Step 9: Smoke and hood lines
Draw a small puffy cloud above the chimney for smoke. Then add two short straight lines on the side of the hood.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a tractor
- Draw the big back wheel first and give it lots of room. Everything else is placed around it.
- For the cab, start at the hood line and draw straight up, then curve across the top and come down the left side to touch the big wheel.
- Draw the front wheel under the front end of the hood, then add the short line that links it to the big wheel.
- Draw the hubs and the little headlight small and neat. Take your time so the circles stay round.

How to color your tractor drawing
Try a bright red or green body with dark gray wheels and a pale blue window. For a creative twist, color the smoke puff pink or purple.
Tractor fun fact for kids
Tractor back wheels are usually much bigger than the front ones. The big wheels help the tractor grip the soil so it can pull heavy loads across a muddy field.
