Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The mushroom cap
Start with a big dome like half of a circle. Close it along the bottom with a gently curved line, so the cap looks like a round hat.
Step 3: The round house
Under the cap, draw two curved lines that start at the bottom of the cap and bow outward like a bell. Close the shape with a gently curved line along the bottom.
Step 4: The front door
Inside the house, draw a door shaped like a rectangle with a round top. Start two lines at the bottom edge of the house, go straight up, and join them with a curved arch.
Step 5: The round window
On the right side of the house, draw a small circle. Add a plus sign inside it to make four little window panes.
Step 6: The little chimney
At the top right of the cap, draw a small rectangle that sticks up. Let the bottom of it tuck into the curve of the cap.
Step 7: The big spots
Draw two circles and one oval on the cap, with the oval in the middle at the top. Spread them out so there is space between each one.
Step 8: The tiny spot
Add one small circle in the empty space below the big spots. It fills the gap and makes the cap look polka-dotted.
Step 9: Grass tufts
At the bottom left and right of the house, draw a little patch of grass. Make a flat bottom line and zigzag up into a few pointy blades.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a mushroom house
- Draw the cap first and make it wider than the house, so it hangs over like a hat.
- The door is the trickiest part. Draw two straight lines up from the bottom, then connect them with a round arch at the top.
- Keep the spots away from the chimney and the edge of the cap, and make them different sizes so they look playful.
