Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The card
Draw a tall rectangle that leans a little to one side, like a card standing up. Leave a gap along the top, because the bow will go there.
Step 3: The big heart
Draw a big heart in the middle of the card. Start with a small dip at the top, curve out into two round bumps, and sweep down toward a point at the bottom. It is fine to leave a small gap on the right side.
Step 4: The left bow loop
In the gap at the top of the card, draw a rounded loop on the left side, like a sideways letter C. Leave its right side open.
Step 5: The right bow loop
Draw a matching loop on the right side of the gap, like a backward letter C, so the bow looks balanced. Make it about the same size as the first loop.
Step 6: The bow knot
Draw a small rounded square in the middle where the two loops meet. Add a short line sticking out on each side of it for the bow's folds.
Step 7: The bow tails
Draw two little pointed tails hanging down from under the knot, one on each side. Each one is a long, skinny loop.
Step 8: The flower petals
Near the bottom right of the heart, draw a wiggly cloud shape with five or six round bumps. These are the petals.
Step 9: The flower center
Draw a small circle in the middle of the petals. Leave it empty.
Step 10: Stems and leaves
Draw two short curvy lines going down from the flower for the stems. Add a small pointed leaf curling out on each side near the bottom.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a Mother's Day card
- Draw the heart lightly first. If one side looks bigger, erase and nudge it until both bumps match.
- Make the two bow loops about the same size. Draw the left one, then look at it while you draw the right one.
- Draw the flower petals as little bumps, one after another around a circle. Don't worry if they are uneven, because real flowers are not perfect.
