Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The round head
Draw a big rounded shape for the head, starting near the top of the guide circle. Curve down both sides and stop where the cheeks meet the chin, leaving the bottom open.
Step 3: Ears, eyes and nose
Draw a small circle on each side of the top of the head, with a tiny circle inside each one for the inner ear. Add two dots for eyes in the middle of the face and a small curved line for the nose below them.
Step 4: The muzzle
Draw a small oval around the nose for the muzzle. It sits low in the middle of the face, below the eyes.
Step 5: The body outline
Under the head, draw a wide curve from one side of the chin, over the shoulders and down the side. Do the same on the other side, so the body looks like a big round tummy that is open at the bottom.
Step 6: The heart
In the middle of the tummy, draw the top of a heart with two soft bumps that meet in a dip. Then draw a pointy V lower down for the bottom tip of the heart.
Step 7: The arms
Draw a short curved line down from each shoulder, beside the top of the heart. Then curve a line from each side of the body in toward the heart, so the arms hold it.
Step 8: Paws, feet and belly
Draw a small circle on each side of the heart for the paws. At the bottom, draw a big oval foot on each side with a smaller oval inside it, and join the feet with a gentle curve across the bottom of the belly.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a teddy bear holding a heart
- Sketch the head and body as light ovals first, so the bear has room for the heart and arms in the middle.
- The heart is the trickiest part. Draw the two small bumps at the top first, then add the point at the bottom.
- Draw the paws as small circles on the edges of the heart, so it looks like the bear is really holding it.
