Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: The heart balloon
Draw two round bumps side by side at the top, like the tops of two hills. Then bring both sides down in long, nearly straight lines until they meet in a point at the bottom.
Step 3: The bunny's head
In the lower left, start at the top and draw a round head shape curving down the left side and along the bottom. Let the line finish with a small curl at the lower right, and leave the top right open for now.
Step 4: The long ears
Draw two tall, skinny ovals sticking up from the top of the head. Let the bottoms tuck behind the head, and tilt the right ear a little outward.
Step 5: The happy face
Add two small round dots for eyes. Put a small dot for the nose between them, a bit lower, and draw a little curvy smile underneath.
Step 6: The little body
Under the head, draw a small U shape, like a bowl, for the bunny's tummy. Its top edge tucks behind the chin.
Step 7: The arm and paw
Start at the right side of the head and draw a curved line going down and to the right. Finish it with a small circle for the paw, then add a short curve from the paw back toward the body.
Step 8: The knot and string
At the bottom point of the heart, draw a tiny triangle for the knot. Then draw a wiggly line from the knot down to the paw.
Step 9: The shiny spot
Inside the heart, near the top left, draw a short curved line that follows the edge. This makes the balloon look shiny.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a heart balloon
- Draw the heart's two top bumps the same size first, then connect them to the bottom point. If one side looks off, lightly sketch a line down the middle to help.
- Start the ears as skinny ovals and let the bottoms disappear behind the head. Draw the head first so you know where the ears should stop.
- The string is the trickiest part. Draw it slowly as one long wiggle from the knot to the paw, and keep the paw circle small.

Heart balloon fun fact for kids
Party balloons float when they are filled with helium, a gas that is lighter than the air around us. That is why a balloon on a string pulls upward in your hand.
