Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: Bottom of the head
Draw a wide U-shaped curve for the lower part of the head. Start high on the left side, curve down and around the bottom, and end high on the right side. Leave the top open, because the hat will cover it.
Step 3: The pirate hat
Draw a wide hat across the top of the head, with two bumps on top and a dip in the middle. Let the sides flare out and curve down into two rounded corners, then fill the whole hat in solid.
Step 4: The rounded body
Under the head, draw a short body shaped like a rounded box. Start at the bottom of the head on the left, go straight down, curve across the bottom, and come back up to the right side.
Step 5: Arms at the sides
Draw two small curved arms, one on each side of the body. Each one starts near the neck, bulges out, and curls back in toward the body.
Step 6: Two little boots
At the bottom of the body, draw two short legs that end in rounded boots. Each boot is a little bump pointing outward.
Step 7: The eye patch
Draw a rounded patch on one side of the face, shaped a bit like a half circle with a flat top. Fill it in solid.
Step 8: Patch string and eye
Draw a straight line slanting up from the patch across the forehead to the hat. Then add a solid round dot on the other side of the face for the eye.
Step 9: A grumpy mouth
Below the eyes, in the middle of the face, draw a small upside-down curve for a grumpy zombie mouth.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a zombie pirate
- Start with the U-shaped bottom of the head and keep it wide. The hat will cover the top, so you do not need to draw it.
- The hat is the trickiest part. Draw the two bumps and the dip in the middle first, then curve the sides down into rounded corners.
- Draw the eye dot a little smaller than the patch, and keep the mouth small and low for a grumpy look.
