How to draw a gazelle step by step

How to Draw a Gazelle · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Face, neck and back

Draw the front of the face with a little curve for the chin, then let the line slide down the front of the neck and chest. Next, draw the back of the head and neck as a long curve, and let it bend to the right into the top of the back.

  2. Step 2: Rump and leg edges

Draw the curved line down the rump at the back, ending in a straight line down for the back leg. Then draw a straight line down from the chest for the front leg, and add a short slanted line near the middle of the body.

  3. Step 3: The four legs

Draw a second line next to each leg line so every leg has two sides, and add the belly line along the top of the legs. Make the legs long and skinny, and keep the pairs close together.

  4. Step 4: The hooves

Draw a small rounded shape at the bottom of each leg, like a tiny shoe. Fill each one in solid.

  5. Step 5: The little tail

Draw a small rounded loop sticking out from the back end, like a tiny mitten.

  6. Step 6: The ears

Draw a leaf shape on the left side of the head, pointing up and out. Then add a short curved line inside the ear on the right.

  7. Step 7: The curved horns

Draw two thick, curved horns that rise from the top of the head like bananas. Make them wider at the bottom and narrow at the tips, then fill them in solid.

  8. Step 8: Eyes and smile

Draw two small ovals for the eyes, one on each side of the face, and a little curved smile between and below them. Add a short curved line where the left ear meets the head.

  9. All done!

Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a gazelle

  • Keep the legs long and thin. Draw two lines for each leg and pull each line straight down so the legs do not wobble.
  • The horns are the trickiest part. Make each one a curved banana shape that is wide at the bottom and pointy at the top, then fill it in.
  • Keep the neck long and the head fairly small. That is what makes it look like a gazelle instead of a pony.

Gazelles bounce into the air with all four feet off the ground at once. This move is called stotting.
