Step 1: Face and head
Draw a big curved line for the top of Mary's head, with a little curl at each side. Add two dots for eyes, a small curved smile, and a curved line on each side for her cheeks.
Step 2: Wavy bangs
Near the top of the head, draw a wavy line with a pointy peak in the middle, like a little hill. It goes from one side of the head to the other.
Step 3: Hair bows
At each side of the head, where the bangs end, draw a small loop with a short bar across it. These are Mary's two hair bows.
Step 4: Long pigtails
Below each bow, draw a long, narrow leaf shape that hangs down beside the face. Make both pigtails about the same length.
Step 5: Dress and lunch box
Under the chin, draw a small bow-shaped collar. Then draw the dress, wider at the bottom like a bell, closed with a gently curved line. On the left, draw a rectangle for a lunch box.
Step 6: Sleeves
Draw a long curved line down each side of the dress to make the sleeves. The left sleeve reaches toward the lunch box.
Step 7: Lunch box stripe
Draw one straight line across the middle of the lunch box to split it into two stripes.
Step 8: Little shoes
Under the dress, draw two flat ovals side by side for Mary's shoes. Let them peek out just below the hem.
Step 9: The little lamb
Off to the right, draw a small round face with two dots for eyes and a dot for the nose. Then draw a puffy, bumpy cloud shape behind it for the wool.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing Mary had a little lamb
- Draw the head first and leave room on both sides. The bows and pigtails need space to hang down.
- The bows can look tricky. Just draw a small loop with a short bar across it at each side of the head.
- For the lamb's wool, draw bumpy, rounded curves like a cloud instead of a straight outline. Keep the lamb smaller than Mary.
