Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Head and hat outline
Draw a big round shape for the head. Make the top a bumpy dome for the hat, with the hat sticking out a tiny bit on each side where it meets the face.
Step 3: Hat band and ruffle
Draw a gently curved line across the hat for a band. Just below it, draw a wavy line of little bumps, like a ruffle, from one side of the hat to the other.
Step 4: Smiling face
Add two round dots for eyes in the middle of the face. Draw a small happy curve for a smile between and below them.
Step 5: The dress outline
Start under the right side of the chin and draw a line going down, bumping out a little. Then draw a flat line across the bottom, going left, with a tiny upturn at the end.
Step 6: The apron
In the middle of the dress, draw a tall shape with a flat top that gets wider toward the bottom, like a trapezoid standing up.
Step 7: The round tuffet
Draw a wide, round cushion under the dress for her seat. Add a curved line along the top edge and a long curved stripe near the middle.
Step 8: Arms and shoes
Draw a long oval arm on the left side with a small circle for the hand. Add a curved sleeve reaching toward the right, ending in a small hand, and a few tiny curved shoes peeking out along the bottom of the dress.
Step 9: Bowl and spoon
Next to her right hand, draw a flat oval for the top of the bowl, then a rounded bottom like a half circle. Add a short slanted line from the bowl with a small oval at the tip for the spoon.
Step 10: The dangling spider
Draw a straight line hanging down from the top, above the bowl. At the end, draw a small circle for the body with a smiley face, and add curved legs on each side.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing Little Miss Muffet
- Draw the head big and round first, with the hat dome on top, so the ruffle can run from one side of the hat to the other.
- The wavy ruffle is the trickiest part. Make the bumps one at a time, each about the same size, like a row of small hills.
- Draw the spider last and keep its legs short and curved. Leave a little space between the bowl and the spider so they do not touch.

How to color your Little Miss Muffet drawing
Try a sunny yellow hat, a pink dress, and a blue tuffet, with a purple spider. For a creative twist, give the spider a tiny hat of its own or color its legs in rainbow stripes.
Little Miss Muffet fun fact for kids
A tuffet is a low seat, like a small stool or a little grassy mound. In the nursery rhyme, curds and whey are the lumpy and watery parts that separate when milk turns to cheese.
Questions about drawing Little Miss Muffet
What shapes do I need to draw Little Miss Muffet?
Mostly circles and ovals. The head and spider body are circles, the bowl is an oval with a half circle underneath, and the apron is a tall trapezoid.
How do I make my Little Miss Muffet look cuter?
Keep the smile small and curved, and make the head big and round. A big head with a small body always looks sweet.
How do I draw the spider so it looks friendly?
Give it a round body with a smiling face and short, bendy legs. Hang it from a straight line so it looks like it is dangling and playful instead of scary.
