How to Draw Santa’s Boot (Easy Step by Step)
Santa's boot is a great first Christmas drawing because it is built from simple shapes: a tall leg, a long rounded sole, a puffy cuff, and a square buckle. A candy cane and two holly leaves tucked behind the top make it feel like a holiday stocking. Take it one shape at a time and it comes together fast.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Boot leg and toe
Draw a tall line going up on the left for the boot leg. From its lower part, draw a long line going right that curves down at the end for the toe.
Step 3: The sole
Under the boot, draw a long flat shape with rounded ends, like a thick pancake. Add one straight line going up and down near the left end to show where the heel is.
Step 4: Fluffy fur cuff
At the top of the boot leg, draw a wide rounded rectangle with bumpy, wavy edges along the top and the bottom. It should be wider than the leg, like a big soft pillow.
Step 5: Fur dashes and belt
Inside the cuff, draw three short slanted dashes for fur. Below the cuff, draw two lines across the leg for a belt, with a tiny rounded rectangle in the middle. Above the cuff, add a few short slanted stripes and a small V shape.
Step 6: The buckle
Draw a square around the tiny rounded rectangle in the middle of the belt to make the buckle.
Step 7: The candy cane
Above the cuff, draw two lines side by side going straight up. At the top, curve them over to the right and bring them back down to make a hook, like an upside down J.
Step 8: Holly leaves and berry
On the right side of the cuff, draw two pointy leaf shapes that lean away from each other. Add a small round dot above them for a berry.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing Santa's boot
- Draw the boot first and make the leg tall enough to leave room for the fur cuff on top. If the leg is too short, the cuff will crowd the belt.
- For the fluffy cuff, make a row of small curved bumps, like a line of tiny rainbows. Try to keep the bumps about the same size.
- Draw the belt buckle as a square around the little rectangle. Use a ruler edge or the side of a book if you want the lines straight.

How to color your Santa's boot drawing
Try red for the boot, white or light gray for the fur, and gold for the buckle. For a creative twist, give the candy cane rainbow stripes instead of red and white.
Santa's boot fun fact for kids
In many homes, children hang stockings by the fireplace on Christmas Eve so Santa can fill them with small gifts.
