How to draw a race car driver step by step

How to Draw a Race Car Driver · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.

  2. Step 2: The big head

Draw a big, wide oval for the head near the top of the page. Leave a small gap at the bottom where the neck will meet the body, and leave room on the right for a raised arm.

  3. Step 3: The racing suit

Under the head, draw a tall rounded rectangle for the suit. Start with a short line across the top, then draw the sides going down and a flat line along the bottom.

  4. Step 4: Two flat shoes

At the bottom of the suit, draw two flat ovals side by side for the shoes. Add a tiny short line from each oval up to the suit.

  5. Step 5: The raised arm

On the right side of the suit, draw a long curved line that swoops up and out toward the top right, like an arm reaching high.

  6. Step 6: The winner's trophy

At the end of the arm, draw a small circle for the hand. Add a thin stick going up, a short flat bar across it, and a cup shape on top with a curly handle on each side.

  7. Step 7: The helmet

On the left side of the suit, draw a big rounded shape for the helmet. Add a curved line across its top, then draw a small rounded oval in the middle for the visor.

  8. Step 8: Face and number one

Give the driver two round dot eyes and a curved smile. Then draw a small V at the neck of the suit and a big number 1 in the middle of the chest. Finish with a short curved line from the top left of the suit toward the helmet.

  9. Step 9: Suit stripes

Draw one long, gently curved line down the left side of the suit and another on the right. They should start below the collar and stop just above the shoes.

  10. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a race car driver

  • Draw the head first and make it big. A large oval gives your driver a friendly, cartoon look and leaves room for everything else.
  • The trophy is the trickiest part. Start with the circle for the hand and the stick, then add the flat bar, the cup, and the little curly handles last.
  • Draw the helmet as a big rounded shape before adding the small visor oval in the middle. Keep it on the left side so it does not touch the face.
