How to draw a kid doing yoga step by step

How to Draw a Kid Doing Yoga · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: Round head and topknot

Draw a big round head, but leave a small gap at the bottom for the neck. Add a little curled topknot poking up from the top, like a small leaf.

  3. Step 3: Calm face

Draw two small curved lines for closed, sleepy eyes, with the curves bending like tiny smiles. Then add a small, gentle smile below and between them.

  4. Step 4: Shoulders and outer arms

Under the head, draw a short flat line for the shoulders. From each end, draw a long slanted line going down and out, like the sides of a tent, to make the outside of each arm.

  5. Step 5: Inner arms

Just inside each shoulder, draw a short wavy curve going down and in to make the inside of each arm. Then draw a short straight line straight down from the end of each curve.

  6. Step 6: Hands

At the bottom of each arm, draw a small curved line that joins the outer arm line to the straight line next to it. This closes off the arm to make a hand.

  7. Step 7: Crossed legs

Draw two long, flat, rounded shapes for the legs. Start one at the bottom of each arm and sweep it across to the middle, so they cross, one tucked over the other.

  8. Step 8: The cushion

Draw a wide rectangle with rounded corners under the legs for the cushion. Then add a curved line under each leg, so the bottom of the legs sits on the cushion.

  9. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a kid doing yoga

  • Draw the head first and make it nice and round. Everything else sits underneath it, so a good circle helps the whole drawing.
  • The crossed legs are the trickiest part. Draw one flat rounded shape, then draw the second so it crosses over the first in the middle.
  • Keep the arms the same length on both sides. Draw each outer arm line first, then match it on the other side.
