Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Head and ears
Draw a wide, rounded head with two tall pointy ears on top, like triangles. Give the cheeks little fluffy zigzag bumps on each side.
Step 3: Inside the ears
Draw a smaller pointy triangle inside each ear, following the shape of the outer ear. Leave a little gap between the two lines.
Step 4: The round body
Under the head, draw a big curve on each side to make a plump body. Start each line just below the cheeks and curve it out and down.
Step 5: The fluffy tail
Start at the bottom of the body and draw a long tail that sweeps out to the right and curls back. Draw a second line along the bottom to make the tail thick.
Step 6: Little paws
Draw two small rounded humps at the bottom of the body for the front paws. Tuck them on top of the tail.
Step 7: The muzzle
In the middle of the face, draw a rounded shape like a small bowl that touches the bottom of the head. Add two little curves on top that almost meet in the middle.
Step 8: Two eyes
Draw two small solid dots for eyes, one on each side of the face. Place them level with each other, above the muzzle.
Step 9: Nose and smile
Draw a rounded triangle nose at the top of the muzzle and fill it in. Below it, draw a tiny wavy smile that looks like a little letter w.
Step 10: The chest patch
On the tummy, draw a shield shape that is wide at the top and curves to a point at the bottom. Make the top edge wavy like small bumps to look like fluffy fur.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a fox cub
- Draw the ears as part of the head so you can see where they should sit. Make them tall and pointy, leaning just a little outward.
- The fluffy cheeks are the trickiest part. Make small, quick zigzag bumps and do not worry if they are not exactly the same on both sides.
- Draw the tail in one smooth, slow curve. If it wobbles, trace over it a second time to make it look fluffy and thick.
