How to Draw a Daisy (Easy Step by Step)
A daisy is a cheerful drawing, and it is built from just a few simple shapes: one circle, a ring of rounded petals, a long stem, and two leaf shapes. Once you can draw a loop, you can draw a daisy. Adding a smiley face gives your flower its own personality.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The flower center
Start with a medium circle in the middle of your paper. This round center will be the daisy's face, so leave lots of room around it for petals.
Step 3: Top petals
Above the circle, draw three rounded petals side by side in one bumpy line, like rabbit ears. Make the middle one the tallest, with one a little shorter on each side.
Step 4: Side petals
Add petals on the left and right of the circle. On each side, draw two wide, rounded loops, one above the other, that bulge out and come back toward the circle.
Step 5: Bottom petals
Finish the ring with three rounded petals below the circle. Draw one pointing straight down in the middle, with one leaning out on each side of it.
Step 6: The stem
Draw one long, nearly straight line going down from the bottom of the flower. Leave room on both sides for leaves.
Step 7: Two leaves
Draw a leaf on each side of the stem. Each one is a pointy oval, like a lemon lying on its side, with one end touching the stem.
Step 8: A happy face
Inside the center circle, add two small dots for eyes. Under them, draw a tiny curved smile.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a daisy
- Draw the center circle first and keep it medium sized. The petals are the trickiest part, and the empty space around the circle gives them room to fit.
- Draw the petals as rounded loops that start and end near the circle. If one comes out fatter or skinnier than the others, that is fine, because real daisies are not perfectly even.
- Make each leaf with a curved line out from the stem and a second curve back, so they meet in a point like a lemon.

How to color your daisy drawing
Try white or yellow petals, a sunny yellow center, and green for the stem and leaves. For a twist, color each petal a different rainbow color to make a party daisy.
Daisy fun fact for kids
A daisy is not one flower but many tiny flowers packed together. The yellow middle is made of lots of little flowers, and each white petal is a flower too.
Questions about drawing a daisy
What shapes do I need to draw a daisy?
You need a circle for the center, rounded loops for the petals, a long line for the stem, and two pointy ovals for the leaves.
How do I make my daisy petals look even?
Draw the three top petals first, then two on each side, then three on the bottom. Working in groups spaces them out so they do not bunch up on one side.
How do I make my daisy look cuter?
Give it a smiling face in the center with two dot eyes and a small curved mouth. You can also make the petals extra round.
