Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Left ear and side
Start at the middle of the top of the head and draw a big rounded ear curving up and out to the left. Then bring the line down the side with a few little bumps for the fluffy cheek, and curve it in to make the body and the left front paw at the bottom.
Step 3: Right ear and side
Start where the left ear ends and draw a short curve across the top of the head, then loop up into a second rounded ear on the right. Match the left side with a bumpy cheek, then curve down to the body and the right front paw.
Step 4: Round eyes
Draw two round dots for eyes in the middle of the face, side by side, with a gap between them. Color them in so they are nice and dark.
Step 5: A little nose
Draw a small oval nose right between the eyes, just a little lower than them. Fill it in solid.
Step 6: Happy smile
Under the nose, draw a small wavy line like a tiny letter w lying on its side, with the ends curling up into a smile.
Step 7: Back legs
On each side of the body near the bottom, draw a curved line like the edge of a leaf. Start it at the body, bow it outward, and bring it back in near the foot to make the puppy's round back legs.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a corgi puppy
- Draw the ears big and rounded. Try to make them about the same height on both sides so the face looks balanced.
- The fluffy cheeks are the trickiest part. Draw them as a few small bumps in the line, rather than one long wiggle.
- Leave a gap between the front paws at the bottom, and keep the eyes far enough apart that there is room for the nose between them and the smile below.

Corgi puppy fun fact for kids
Corgis have short legs because they were bred to herd cattle. Their small size let them nip at the cows' heels and duck under kicks.

Make the eyes big and round and keep them a little apart. Add a tiny smile and keep the ears extra large.
