Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The big body
Draw a long, chubby body that is round and big on the left for the head. Let the top line dip gently and then swoop up at the right into a skinny tail stalk, while the bottom line curves around the belly and ends near the right side.
Step 3: The tail fin
At the top of the skinny right end, draw a curvy tail fin that bulges out to the right. Start at the tip of the stalk, curve out and down with a little bump, then sweep back in toward the bottom of the body.
Step 4: The flipper
Near the bottom of the body, draw a small leaf shape standing up. Make it pointy at the top and let the bottom touch the belly line.
Step 5: Eye and smile
Add a small dot for the eye on the round head. Then, near the front of the face, draw a short curved line like a little smile that curves up at the end.
Step 6: Bubbles to finish
Draw three little circles floating up and to the left of the head, one bigger and two smaller. Keep the middle of each circle empty so they look like bubbles.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a beluga whale
- Draw the body in one smooth, flowing line, and make the head end rounder and bigger than the tail end.
- The tail fin is the trickiest part, so draw it slowly. It bulges out from the top of the skinny end and curves back toward the body.
- Put the smile low on the head near the front and curve it up at the end, so your whale looks happy and not surprised.

How to color your beluga whale drawing
Beluga whales are creamy white, so try a very light gray or pale blue for the body and a deeper blue for the water around it. For a creative twist, color each bubble a different pastel shade, like a rainbow of soap bubbles.

Belugas are sometimes called the canaries of the sea because they make so many clicks, whistles, and chirps to talk to each other.
