Step 1: The roof
Draw a big upside-down V like a tent in the middle of your paper. Then draw a second V just inside it so the roof looks thick, and round off the two bottom tips.
Step 2: Walls and floor
From the two bottom tips of the roof, draw one straight line down on each side. Join the bottoms with a long flat line to make the floor of the house.
Step 3: The chimney
On the left side of the roof, draw a tall, skinny rectangle standing up. Let its bottom meet the slope of the roof.
Step 4: Two puffy bushes
Draw a big cloud-shaped bush on each side of the house, with bumpy, curvy edges. Let the lines stop where they touch the roof and walls, so the bushes look like they are behind the house.
Step 5: Door and step
In the middle of the house, draw a tall shape with a rounded top, like a tunnel, standing on the floor line. Add two tiny short lines hanging below the floor line, one at each side of the door, for the step.
Step 6: Front windows
Draw a square with rounded corners on each side of the door. Cut each one into four panes with a plus sign.
Step 7: Attic window
Up in the roof triangle, draw a small rounded rectangle. Add one line across the middle to split it in two.
Step 8: Fence and ground
At the bottom left, draw a little row of short posts with pointy tops, bunched together beside the house. Then draw a long flat ground line from the fence, under the house, and out to the right.
Step 9: Sign on legs
On the right, next to the house, draw a small rectangle with rounded corners for the sign. Give it two skinny legs that go down and stand on the ground line.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a country farmhouse
- Draw the roof as one big upside-down V first, then add the second V inside it. Keeping the two lines the same distance apart makes the roof look thick.
- The bushes are the trickiest part. Draw them as bumpy clouds and let the lines stop where they touch the house, so they look like they are standing behind it.
- Make the two front windows the same size by drawing them level with each other, one on each side of the door.
