Step 1: The big star
Draw a big five-pointed star with softly rounded corners. Start at the top point, go down to the left and right points, then finish with the two bottom points and a little bump in the bottom middle.
Step 2: The inside star
Draw a smaller five-pointed star inside the big one, with its top point pointing the same way. Leave an even gap all around so it looks like a star inside a star.
Step 3: The tree-top base
Under the bottom of the big star, draw a short cone shape, narrow at the top and wider at the bottom. Close it with a gently curved line across the bottom.
Step 4: Happy face
In the middle of the small star, draw two little dots for eyes. Add a small curved smile below and between them.
Step 5: Top left sparkle
In the upper left corner, draw a small four-pointed sparkle. Make a tiny diamond shape with curved sides and four soft points.
Step 6: Top right sparkle
Draw a matching four-pointed sparkle in the upper right corner, the same size as the first one.
Step 7: Lower sparkles
Draw two more four-pointed sparkles, one on the lower left and one on the lower right. Make them about the same size as the top ones.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a Christmas star
- Draw the points of the big star first, then connect them. The corners are the tricky part, so round them off a little instead of making them sharp.
- Keep the small star pointing the same way as the big one, with about the same gap on every side. Light guide marks can help you line it up.
- For each sparkle, draw a small diamond with curved sides and four soft points. Try to make all four sparkles about the same size.
