Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The round vase
Sketch a big rounded pear shape, wide and plump at the bottom. Give it a short, flat rim on top and two gentle curves for the neck.
Step 3: The tulip
Above the vase, draw a tall cup shape like a rounded U. Add a zigzag crown on top with three pointy petals.
Step 4: The tulip stem
Draw one straight line from the bottom of the tulip down to the middle of the vase rim.
Step 5: The bumpy flower
On the left, draw a bumpy flower outline with rounded petals all the way around. Put a small circle in the middle.
Step 6: The swirl flower
On the right, draw a big circle. Inside it, start in the middle and wind a spiral outward like a snail shell.
Step 7: The curvy stems
Draw a stem from the bottom of each side flower, bending in a soft S shape down to the vase rim. Let each one end at the rim, next to the middle stem.
Step 8: Two leaves
Draw a leaf on each curvy stem, shaped like a pointy oval, like a lemon on its side. Make the tips point away from the middle.
Step 9: The happy face
Add two round dots for eyes and a small curved smile between them. Finish with a zigzag line across the lower part of the vase.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a vase of flowers
- Draw the vase first and keep it light, so the flowers have a clear spot to sit above it.
- The bumpy flower is the trickiest part. Make five or six little bumps in a circle, like a cloud, and fix them as you go.
- For the spiral, start in the center and circle outward slowly. It is easier than starting at the edge.
