How to Draw Binoculars (Easy Step by Step)
Binoculars are a fun drawing because they are mostly circles, and circles are easy to repeat. You will build them from a wide body, two round barrels, two lenses, and a small tab in the middle. Once you have drawn one side, the other side is a copy.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Body outline
Draw a wide shape like two puffy bumps side by side, with a small dip in the middle at the top. Curve the bottom into one big smile that joins the two sides.
Step 3: Middle bridge and barrels
Draw a small upright tab in the dip at the top, then curve two long lines down from it. Each one bends out into a round barrel and ends near the bottom corner of the outline.
Step 4: Top lens caps
On top of each barrel, draw a short curved line that arches like a rainbow. It starts at the outer edge of the barrel and ends near the middle tab.
Step 5: The lenses
Draw one circle inside each barrel, about the same size, so the two lenses look like a matching pair.
Step 6: Bottom of the bridge
Between the two barrels, draw a short straight line across the narrow gap near the bottom. It closes off the middle piece.
Step 7: Wheel slot and shine
Draw a tiny upright slot inside the little tab at the top of the middle piece, with a short flat line under it. Then add a small slanted shine mark at the upper left of each lens.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing binoculars
- Draw the left and right barrels at the same size. Try tracing a small cup or coin for each circle if yours come out lopsided.
- The middle gap is the trickiest part. Draw the two curved sides first so they bend toward each other, then add the straight line at the bottom.
- Leave a little white space between each lens and its barrel. That gap makes the lens rim look thick.

How to color your binoculars drawing
Try dark gray or forest green for the body and sky blue for the lenses. For a creative twist, color the lenses with a scene, such as a bird, a moon, or a faraway mountain, as if you were looking right at it.
Binoculars fun fact for kids
Binoculars have two barrels, one for each eye. Using both eyes together helps your brain judge how far away things are.
Questions about drawing binoculars
What shapes do I need to draw binoculars?
You need circles for the barrels and lenses, curved arches for the top caps, and a small tab in the middle. A wide smile-shaped curve joins the bottom.
How do I make my binoculars look shiny?
Add a short slanted line near the top of each lens and leave that spot uncolored. The white patch looks like light bouncing off the glass.
Why do my two circles look different sizes?
That happens to everyone at first. Draw very light guide circles first, check that they match, then go over them with a darker line.
