How to draw a mango step by step

How to Draw a Mango · tinyhandscreate.com

  1. Step 1: Guide shapes

Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.

  2. Step 2: The mango body

Start with one big, plump rounded shape that is a little wider at the bottom than at the top. Draw all the way around and close the line so it makes one smooth loop.

  3. Step 3: Stem and leaf

At the top of the mango, draw a short stem that starts on the outline and curves up and to the right. Then add a pointy leaf shape, like a flat lemon, that starts at the top of the stem and points to the right.

  4. Step 4: The shiny highlight

On the left side, inside the mango, draw one short curved line that follows the edge. It is a little streak of light, so leave a gap between it and the outline.

  5. Step 5: A happy face

Draw two small dots for eyes, with the right one a little lower than the left one. Then add a tiny smile that curves up in the middle, below and between the eyes.

  6. All done!

Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a mango

  • Draw the body as a plump rounded shape that leans a little instead of a perfect circle. A slightly lopsided shape looks more like a real mango.
  • Start the stem right on the top edge of the body so it looks attached, then draw the leaf from the top of the stem.
  • Keep the shiny streak short and curved the same way as the left edge, with a small gap, so it looks like light on the skin.
  • Make the two eyes a little uneven and keep the smile small for a playful face.
