How to Draw Broccoli (Easy Step by Step)
Broccoli looks like a tiny tree, and this smiling one is built from just a few easy shapes: a puffy cloud on top, a bucket-shaped stem, and two curvy arms. It is a great drawing for beginners because the bumpy top does not have to be perfect. Every wobble just makes it look more like real broccoli.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch these 2 ovals. They only show where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase them at the end.
Step 2: Cloud top outline
Start with a wide, puffy cloud shape. Draw a round bump on the upper left, then sweep the line down and along the bottom and up the right side, leaving a gap along the top.
Step 3: The tall middle bump
Fill in the gap on top with one tall, round bump. Start where the left bump ends and curve up and over to the right.
Step 4: The right bump
Add one more round bump on the upper right. Start at the tall bump and curve it down to meet the side of the cloud.
Step 5: The stem
Under the cloud, draw a stem like a wide bucket. Draw two lines that slope outward from the bottom of the cloud, then close it with a gently curved line across the bottom.
Step 6: The left arm
On the left side, draw a long curved line that starts at the bottom of the cloud, goes down beside the stem, and bends in to touch the stem.
Step 7: The right arm
Now draw the matching arm on the right. Start at the bottom of the cloud, curve down beside the stem and bend in to touch it, just like the left one.
Step 8: Face and little hands
Draw two small hook curves just under the cloud, one inside each arm. Then add two small dots for eyes and a little curved smile on the stem.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing broccoli
- Draw the cloud top with big, round bumps first. Let the bumps meet in small dips so it looks fluffy.
- Keep the stem narrow at the top and wider at the bottom, like a bucket, so the broccoli looks steady.
- Make the two arms about the same length and curve them the same way, so they look like a matching pair.

Questions about drawing broccoli
What shapes do I need to draw broccoli?
You need a bumpy cloud shape for the top and a wide bucket shape for the stem. Add two curved lines for arms, two small hooks, and two dots and a curve for the face.
How do I make my broccoli look cuter?
Place the eyes wide apart on the stem, then add a small smile between them. Coloring a little pink blush on each side makes it extra friendly.
Why is my broccoli top not round?
It is not supposed to be. Broccoli tops are bumpy, so try drawing several small round bumps side by side instead of one big circle.
