Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The cup
Draw a tall cup that is wider at the top and narrower at the bottom. Make two slanted sides and join them with a flat, rounded bottom. Leave the top open.
Step 3: Lid and straw
Draw a flat line across the top of the cup that sticks out a little past both sides. Add a half circle above it for the round lid, then draw the long sides of a tilted straw poking up from the right side of the lid.
Step 4: Wavy lines
Draw two wavy lines across the cup, one near the top and one near the bottom. Start each at one side of the cup and wiggle up and down to the other side.
Step 5: Strawberry top, straw band
On the left of the lid, draw a curved line for the top of the strawberry. Then draw a short line across the straw to make a band, and a small slanted line where the straw meets the lid.
Step 6: Strawberry sides
Under the curved top, draw the sides of the strawberry so it makes a rounded heart with a point at the bottom. Then draw a gentle curved line along the top of the lid from the strawberry over to the straw.
Step 7: Strawberry leaves
On top of the strawberry, draw two small curved leaves that bend outward like little wings, meeting in the middle.
Step 8: Two eyes
In the middle of the cup, between the two wavy lines, draw two round dots side by side. Fill them in so they look like shiny eyes.
Step 9: A little smile
Between the eyes and a little lower, draw a small curved smile like a tiny bowl.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a smoothie
- Start the cup with two slanted sides that lean in toward the bottom. If the sides are too straight, the cup will look like a box.
- Draw the wavy lines slowly, like a gentle roller coaster. Keep the hills about the same size so the smoothie looks smooth.
- Draw the straw with two slanted sides that lean the same way, then add the band across it. Keep the strawberry on the left so it does not crowd the straw.

How to color your smoothie drawing
Try pink for the smoothie, with a red strawberry and green leaves. For a creative twist, make each band between the wavy lines a different fruit color, like pink, yellow and purple.
Smoothie fun fact for kids
A strawberry has its seeds on the outside of its skin, and an average strawberry has about 200 of them.
