How to Draw a Taco (Easy Step by Step)

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Front shell arch
Start at the lower left and draw a curved arch that goes up and over, like the top of a half circle. Stop on the right side, a little above the middle, and leave the bottom open.
Step 3: Bottom and back shell
Start at the lower left end of your arch and draw a long, slightly curved line to the right for the bottom. Curve it up the right side, then arch it high over the top and back down to touch your first arch near the upper left.
Step 4: Folded front edge
Start where your first arch ends on the right and draw a gentle curved line down to the bottom right corner. This closes the front of the shell.
Step 5: Lettuce ruffles
Along the top edge of the front shell, draw a row of small bumpy loops, like tiny hills or rounded leaves. Make them different sizes so the lettuce looks crinkly.
Step 6: Eyes and smile
Draw two small dots for eyes low in the middle of the front shell, with space between them. Then draw a little curved smile between the eyes, a bit lower down.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a taco
- Draw the front arch first, then add the bottom line and the big back curve. The back curve should stop where it touches the arch, not cross over it.
- Make each lettuce loop a different size. Uneven bumps look more like real ruffled lettuce.
- Put the eyes low and wide apart, with the smile between them. A face placed low on the shell makes the taco look extra cute.
