How to Draw a Skateboard (Easy Step by Step)
A skateboard is a great first drawing because it is made from just a few simple shapes. You will use a long rounded pill for the board, short legs for the trucks, and circles for the wheels. The little lightning bolt on top makes it look fast and gives you a chance to add your own style.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: The board shape
Draw a long, tilted pill shape with rounded ends, like a stretched-out oval. Make it a little flat on the top and bottom.
Step 3: The thick side
Draw a long, gently curved line along the bottom of the board, starting at the left end and ending at the right end. It shows the thick side of the board.
Step 4: Two end lines
Near each end of the board, draw one curved line from the top edge down to the bottom edge. They bend a little, like two parentheses facing away from each other.
Step 5: The lightning bolt
In the middle of the board, draw a small zigzag lightning bolt. Give it a wide top, a bend in the middle, and a short pointy tail at the bottom.
Step 6: Trucks and hubs
Under each end of the board, draw two short legs that slant down and come close together at the bottom. Add a tiny dot at the bottom of each pair for the center of a wheel.
Step 7: Front wheels
Draw a circle around each tiny dot, with the circle touching the bottom of the legs. Make both circles about the same size.
Step 8: Back wheels
Tuck a curved line behind each front wheel, peeking out to one side. Start it at the legs, bend it around like a letter C turned on its side, and end it back at the front wheel.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a skateboard
- Draw the board shape light and slow. If both ends are rounded the same amount, the whole skateboard will look balanced.
- The wheels are the trickiest part. Trace around a coin if your circles come out wobbly.
- Draw the back wheel behind the front one, and do not draw the lines that would be hidden. This is what makes the wheels look like they are sitting side by side.
