How to Draw a Turkey Leg (Easy Step by Step)
A turkey leg is a fun first food drawing because it is really just two simple parts: a big round blob for the meat and a little bone with a bumpy end. Adding a smiling face turns it into a friendly character. If you can draw a round shape and a short tube, you can draw this.

Step 1: Guide shapes
Lightly sketch this oval. It only shows where the big parts go, so press softly. You will erase it at the end.
Step 2: Round meaty outline
Draw a big, round blob shape for the meat, a bit like a balloon. Start near the bottom right, curve up and around the left side and over the top, then come down the right side and stop just above where you started, leaving a small gap.
Step 3: The bone
In the gap at the bottom right, draw two lines going down and to the right, like a short tube. At the end, draw a bumpy knob with two round bumps, like the end of a cartoon bone.
Step 4: Face and joint line
Draw two small dots for eyes in the middle of the meat, one a little higher than the other. Add a little curved smile below them. Then draw a short slanted line across the top of the bone, where it meets the meat.
Step 5: The long shine
Inside the meat, near the left edge, draw a long curved line that follows the shape of the outline, like a gentle letter C.
Step 6: The small shine
Above the long curve, add one short curved line that bends the same way. It looks like a little glint of light on the meat.
All done!
Erase the guide shapes, go over your lines, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a turkey leg
- Start with a big, round blob for the meat and leave a small gap at the bottom right. That gap is where the bone attaches.
- The bone knob is the trickiest part. Draw the two lines of the tube first, then make two round bumps at the end, one after the other, in one smooth line.
- Keep the shine curves short and curved the same way as the outline. Leave a gap between them and the edge so they look like light, not extra outlines.
