Step 1: The castle wall
Start at the top of the left side and draw a line straight down. Turn the corner, draw a flat line across the bottom, then turn again and draw a line straight up on the right. It looks like a big letter U with a wide bottom.
Step 2: The middle tower
Start inside the wall near the top of the left side, draw a short line down, then a short line across to the right. Draw a tall line up, and along the top draw two small square notches. Come down the other side, step right, and finish with a short line up.
Step 3: Left roof and flag
On the left side of the wall, draw a flat line, then a pointy roof above it with sides that curve in a little, like a witch's hat. Add a straight pole on the tip and a small triangle flag at the top of the pole.
Step 4: Right roof and flag
Do the same on the right side so the two roofs match. Draw a flat line, a curved pointy roof, then a pole with a small triangle flag that points left.
Step 5: The big door
In the bottom middle, draw two straight lines going up from the bottom of the wall. Join them at the top with a round curve, like a rainbow.
Step 6: The tower window
In the middle tower, draw a small window that is tall with a round top. It looks like a little door.
Step 7: The side windows
Under the left roof, draw one narrow window with a round top. Draw another one the same size under the right roof so the castle looks balanced.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a castle
- Draw the wall lightly first, then the middle tower, so you can see where everything else fits.
- The pointy roofs are the trickiest part. Draw a straight triangle first, then curve the two sides inward a little.
- Make the two roofs match by drawing the left one, then copying its height and width on the right.
- Keep the door and windows tall with round tops so they look like arches.

Castle fun fact for kids
Many real castles had a wall with square gaps along the top, called battlements. Soldiers could hide behind the tall parts and look out through the gaps.
