Step 1: Door outline
Draw two tall straight lines side by side. Join their tops with a flat line and rounded corners, so it looks like an upside-down U. Leave the bottom open.
Step 2: The floor line
Draw a long flat line across the bottom, touching the two bottom ends of the door. Let it stick out a little on both sides.
Step 3: The top window
Near the top of the door, draw a wide rectangle with softly rounded corners. Leave a little space between it and the top edge of the door.
Step 4: The window divider
Draw one short straight line down the middle of the window, from the top edge to the bottom edge. Now you have two small windows side by side.
Step 5: The middle panel
Under the window, draw a big rectangle with rounded corners. Make it taller than the window and keep it toward the left side of the door.
Step 6: The bottom panel
Below the middle panel, draw another rounded rectangle about the same width. Stop it a little above the floor line.
Step 7: The doorknob
On the right side of the door, between the two big panels, draw a small circle. It sits in the gap to the right of the panels, like a round knob.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a door
- Draw the two tall sides first and look at them together. If they lean in different directions, lightly erase one and try again.
- Rounded corners are the trickiest part. Slow down at each corner and turn the pencil in a gentle curve instead of stopping and starting.
- Keep the two big panels the same width by lining up their left sides, like they are standing on the same invisible line.

Doors have been around for thousands of years. Ancient Egyptians made wooden doors that swung on simple pivots, and some of those doors are still found in tombs today.
