Step 1: Body sides
Draw the sides of a tall, round body with four curved lines. Make two short curves on the left, one for the upper side and one for the lower side. Then draw one long curve on the right that bulges out and comes back in at the bottom.
Step 2: Ears, stripes and eye
Draw a gentle curve across the top of the head, then add two half-circle ears at each end and fill them in dark. Draw two wedge-shaped stripes that start at the top of the head and get thinner as they slope down. Add a round dot for the left eye under the left stripe.
Step 3: Nose, smile and eye
Draw a small oval nose in the middle of the face. Under it, add a tiny wavy smile. Then put a round dot for the second eye under the right stripe, to match the first one.
Step 4: Round belly shape
Draw an arch across the middle of the body, like a rainbow bump. Then draw a curved line below it that dips down like a smile. These two lines will become a round ball held in front.
Step 5: Dark paws
Fill in a dark half-moon on the left edge of the round shape. Then fill in a dark half-moon on the right edge. These are the paws holding the ball.
Step 6: Two arm lines
Draw a short slanted line going out to the right from the top of the right paw. Then draw a second short line going right from the bottom of the same paw.
Step 7: The tail
On the right side, draw a long curve that follows the body edge down. Start near the top of the body and curve out and down. Then flick it out to the right in a little point and swoop it back to meet the bottom of the body.
Step 8: Feet
Draw two flat, oval feet at the bottom, one on the left and one on the right, and fill them in dark. Join them with a short straight line between them.
All done!
Go over your lines with a marker, then color it in.

Tips for drawing a honey badger
- Make the body sides smooth and round, and leave the gaps in step 1 on purpose. The ears, paws and feet will connect the lines later.
- The wedge-shaped stripes are the trickiest part. Start each one at the top of the head and let it get thinner as it slopes down toward the face.
- Draw the ball in the paws as an arch on top and a curve underneath. Then fill in the paws on each side so it looks like the badger is hugging it.

Honey badger fun fact for kids
Honey badgers have loose, thick skin, so if a predator grabs one, it can twist around inside its skin and wriggle free.
